I saw Aimee’s work featured in our hospital and was an instant fan. She captures newborns in a way that compels you to stop everything and marvel at the perfect angelic features all babies are born with. I admired the way her images showcase the miraculous way these tiny beings can bend and snuggle up with such comfort, knowing they are reminded of the security they felt inside their mother’s womb only days earlier. When I became a mother for the first time I knew exactly who I wanted to photograph my newborn. When I met Aimee, she felt like a lifelong friend. I knew my precious baby was in patient and loving hands. When I saw the photos from my daughters session at the reveal appointment, my husband and I were speechless. She somehow captured details that we never noticed. Details we recognized as “our baby” but never put words to. The way she crinkled her little nose when she yawned, the deep wrinkles of her feet, the creases of her lips, the wyispy hairs on her little shoulders. Things I, like every mother, knew because I studied every inch of my baby but somehow missed the importance of documenting in the trenches of new motherhood.
